Explore Khloris - The All-New Watering System - Available Now!

Is a lack of pressure putting you under pressure as your plants press-ya for watering pleasure? It’s not unlikely, given the U.K.’s ever-widening hosepipe bans. Recent watering restrictions over here are putting plants and growers in a very tight spot indeed.

Verily, there’s more limping pipe going on around here than at a salty sea-dog’s shindig. And as hoses fall slack fruit, veg, and flowers are inevitably following suit. Of equal or greater concern is the fact that we’re not even deep into summer yet. What happens when we get to August?

The tragedy is that, if they could be irrigated, those plants would be absolutely flying right now. Fortunately, AutoPot offers a way out.

We’ve said it before in various different ways and as the solution to a number of different problems, but one key feature of our systems bears repeating here. AutoPot requires no running water. So it is exempt from a hosepipe ban.

You can continue to water your plants freely because the systems do not rely on mains water pressure. Whether you fill your reservoir using a bucket or use collected ‘grey water’ from a water butt you are free to give your plants exactly what they need. Here’s how it works.

Gravity pressure is all it takes to get the water to the plants in an AutoPot Watering System. That’s why you do not need a hose. As long as the level of the water in your reservoir is high enough above the pots and trays your plants will have automatic irrigation, on demand.

To ensure you have sufficient gravity pressure all you need to do is elevate your reservoir 150mm / 6 inches above the highest module in your system – which is standard operating procedure for AutoPot anyway. You can do this with bricks (as long as stable), an old bit of pallet is a fave, or one of our Reservoir Stands.

It’s never too late to switch to AutoPot, especially with easy2GO

In actual fact, when using AutoPot in extreme conditions you can have a triply clean conscience. 1) You’re not ban-busting. 2) You can use collected water. 3) You’re irrigating your plants with absolutely zero waste. Because the supply of water to the plants is controlled solely by uptake, every drop goes to use. And as the systems irrigate from below the pots nothing is lost to evaporation.

Think you’ve left it too late to make the switch? It’s never too late. Our systems offer a wide variety of pot sizes, from 8.5L to 50L, allowing you to transplant with ease. As well as requiring no running water the systems do not use electricity, meaning they can be used anywhere and left unattended stress-free. And if you don’t want to re-pot why not try easy2GO, the kit that turns any garden tray into an automatic plant watering system in minutes?
