Land of Planty

As summer draws to a close do you find yourself looking enviously at your in-earth growing chums? Thinking, ‘whence shall I plant my winter veg and associated doings when I have no beds but those in which I sleep, nor plots but those in which I conspire?’ Do you find yourself thinking stuff like that?

Well, ponder in Shakespearian no more! For we have the ideal solution to a lack of in-earth growing space for winter veg gardeners. A bit of kit that allows you to create a no-mess, space-efficient, ultra-productive allotment wherever you grow. Indoors or out, it provides exactly the plot required for you to succeed with surprisingly large quantities of veg – year-round.

Best of all, our stroke of genius can be AutoPot-irrigated and used in controlled environments! Meaning you can show those tilling the earth under inclement skies exactly how it can be done automatically, in comfort, and in synch with plant needs. Prepare the ticker-tape parade for the Tray2Grow Planter!

This collapsible fabric container holds a whopping 107.5 L / 23.5 gal of grow media, comfortably enough to accommodate root veg, alliums, brassicas, and leafy greens. We’ve paired the Planter with Tray2Grow systems in many test grows, using a wide variety of crops in the AutoPot R&D Room and the Greenhouse. In each grow we’ve found that the Planter not only offers sufficient room for such crops but also actively helps them thrive.

The porous planter walls promote vigorous, healthy growth as the fabric allows for air-pruning and helps eliminate root circling. The porosity of the fabric also allows for increased oxygen exchange in the root zone which helps stimulate rapid development. This means you get bigger, healthier crops much faster.

This is true not only of the winter veg we’ve cultivated in Tray2Grow Planters but also vine crops and chillies – as champion grower and 13-time Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal Winner Medwyn Williams MBE found out on his visit to HQ last year.

The Planter is specifically deigned to fit into a Tray2Grow system which irrigates and feeds from beneath. As with all AutoPot Watering Systems, the Tray2Grow supplies water and nutrients to the container only in response to uptake – meaning the roots of your plants are always feeding keenly and never saturated.

Because it is 100% gravity-fed, the Tray2Grow requires no electricity or mains water to function. With no utilities involved the system can be placed anywhere, is virtually no-cost to run, and can be left unattended stress-free. Simply connect to a reservoir and off you go. It’s a whole new way to garden – wherever you grow.

Simple to assemble and produced from BPA-free, Lead-free fabric, the Planter is extensively reusable. Once your growing season is over it can easily be disassembled for cleaning and/or storage. Just make sure the fabric is washed on a cool cycle, air-dry when clean, and absolutely do not tumble dry it.
