J’s Of Glory

Jo-noooooooo! Our northern soul has been ripped asunder! Jono Smith, our gentleman Rep of latitudes exceeding Birmingham, takes a bow this month, bringing down the curtain on a majestic couple of years at AutoPot. Swift-yet-serene as a swan, Jono has served our stockists regally whilst always maintaining his trademark immaculate plumage (sharp dresser). Like all swans he is capable of flight (albeit jet assisted) and is an absolute natural when on migration, with unflappable turns on the European expo circuit concluded by his acclaimed swan song at Spannabis ‘23. We’d like to sincerely thank Jono for his hard work, for the prosperity he’s brought to the brand, and for the impeccable way in which he has represented us. Naturally we wish him all the best with his future endeavours. Now, cards on the table; somewhat carelessly we’ve mislaid another J this month.

Escaped dance-trouper and former AutoPot Accounts Assistant, James Perigo has flashed his legs around the office for the last time. Keen to be closer to his home near Cheltenham, the fanatical short-wearer has decided it’s time to share his limbs with a new organisation. Given that the Cheltenham environs are famed for their association with horse racing, and given that horses don’t wear trousers, it’s not unreasonable to conclude that James is enjoying proximity to some more like-minded creatures. We will however miss him greatly. His dad-level wit and lack of any discernible tea-making abilities only slightly having detracted from his dedication and scrupulous attention to detail down the years. Good luck Shorty! That leaves us two J’s down! Quick, get the phone book out!

In truth our recruitment policy is slightly more refined than that. After an exhaustive search our team alighted upon; Josh Smith! Not Josh Ralph-Smith, we’ve got one of those already. This is another guy called Josh Smith. We actually consider ourselves more imaginative for hiring multiple people with the same name – who else thinks of that? Anyway, Josh Smith is much more than the namesake of Josh Ralph-Smith, although that’s not to denigrate Josh Ralph-Smith. 

Josh Smith is our new General Office Assistant. Josh Smith is very keen to get involved with all kinds of projects. Josh Smith is already marinading our work in the kind of delicious insights only Josh Smith can uncork from his brain. Josh Smith is very personable. Josh Smith is very bright and fits into the office perfectly, like a lightbulb. Josh Smith is a former Pro-Tour croquet player whose career was tragically cut short by hooping cough. That last one was balderdash, but we are, nonetheless, very excited to finally have another Josh Smith onboard.
