Auto5 Is On It’s Way!

Big plant growers – your time is coming! Soon you too can maximise your growing space with Auto5! We’ve already done it with tray systems for large multiples of smaller pots. Next up we’re producing a multi-pot module that houses five 35 L / 9 gal fabric pots, all fed by a single AQUAvalve5 for minimal maintenance.

This promises to be an absolute boon for those wishing to reduce costs on lighting, minimise system maintenance, and reap the most from investments in facility floorspace. And if you think that sounds like just about any grower with common sense then you’d be right.

All of this with proven, high-yield results, operating power-free without wasting a drop of water or fertiliser. Significant advantages over growing in individual modules include the reduction in both maintenance and the need for maintenance access. This in turn means you can fit many more plants into an area because all the access you’ll ever need is via one port to the AQUAvalve5.

More closely arranged plants require less lighting coverage than the equivalent number of individual pot and tray modules. Better still Auto5 is the first AutoPot module to accommodate the blockbusting new 35 L fabric FlexiPot – part of an expanded and improved range of fabric pots for 2021 onwards. Doubtless, those astute enough to have grasped the potential of Auto5 will also be well aware of the potential benefits of fabric pots.

For the avoidance of doubt, fabric pots mean you stand to get bigger, stronger, faster-growing plants. This is due in part to the air-pruning facilitated by FlexiPot’s porous fabric sides. Air-pruning occurs where roots contact the sides of the fabric pot and, deterred by colder conditions outside, divide into a vast network of smaller feeder roots. An increased number of secondary feeder roots can help increase nutrient and water uptake and eliminate root circling. Meanwhile increased oxygen exchange in the substrate via pot sides helps to supercharge plant growth – good stuff huh?!

Auto5 will be on sale early 2021 in a variety of configurations. As with our other tray systems you will be able to buy a complete off-the-peg unit including tray, lid, pots, AQUAvalve5, root control, pipe and fittings. With Auto5 the same unit is available without pots if you wish, the lid and tray will be on sale individually too, and if you already have a 1.2m sq tray you can even buy just the lid – it’s all pleasingly possible.
