Watering systems are great for eliminating the manual labour and physical presence required by hand watering. You free up time. That time can be put to good use in advancing your growing techniques or just living your life and enjoying your plants.
Once you’ve got your hands on a system you just need a few simple guidelines in order to help you start living the dream. And we’re more than happy to furnish you with all the necessary info where AutoPots are concerned. To those ends we’ve created a new and dazzlingly straight-forward range of Growing Guides – available now. If you’re ready to have your life enhanced immeasurably read on.
Go with the flow of our Potting Up Guide for an easy-to-grasp 7-step outline of how to set up your modules. From root control through substrates, plant choice, system activation, AirDomes, and nutrients this guide was drawn up to concisely clarify the essentials of AutoPot growing.
As below, so above. The fortunes of your plants will depend to a great extent upon what lies beneath. The right choice of growing medium, whatever style you prefer, will make all the difference. Our Substrate Guide walks you through the basic principles of how to choose the right medium and any pitfalls to avoid.
Find out how to choose the kind of airy, light, and fluffy media that will get you off to a flyer. We cover the pros and cons of those ingredients that support bioactivity and those that ensure the perfect balance of aeration, water-retention, and wicking is maintained. Simple steps will help you prevent pH issues. Little tweaks will give you better capillary action – the drawing of water and nutrient solution up through the pot. Read and download here.
Whether you’re new to the systems or an old hand, it’s worth checking out our Nutrient Guide. This walks growers through the vast potential for nutrient use unlocked by AQUAvalve5. Explore a variety of approaches to feeding your plants using mineral or organic nutrients via the reservoir and pipework or, if desired, via in-pot feeding.
For those who take growing from Day One we’ve created an AutoPot Propagation Guide with a wealth of material on how best to start off your precious seeds, cuttings, and small plants. As well as universal wisdom on feeding, pH, water, temperature, hardening, and substrates you can see just how the most popular types of propagation product on the market mesh with AutoPot offerings.
Finally, what to do when you’re in full flow. Our System Maintenance and Reservoir Guide is a mini-compendium of info on keeping things tickety-boo whilst growing and getting the best out of your kit for years to come. Many thanks to you guys for the questions that have informed and shaped a great deal of what’s gone into these guides, now off you pop and get growing.

hi Unless I misunderstood – in your Potting up, Step2 substrate choice – in the small pictures it appears that there are two soil and clay pebble pictures exactly the same?
Hi Paul,
Many thanks for your enquiry, you are quite correct – that example should be coco/growstones. Thanks to your attention to detail our guides have now been rectified accordingly.
Kind Regards
