More reasons to rejoice this coming yule. Some long-cultivated relationships in the South American growing community are really starting to bear fruit. We’ve teamed up with a string of hydro businesses to bring growers in Colombia, Uruguay, and Chile yet more exciting options for legal cultivation. Yes, there has been an influx of new, hotly anticipated AutoPot distribution in the region and we’re delighted to be able to introduce the key players here. This promises to be a very South Ameri-christmas indeed!
We’ll have to go alphabetical or there’ll be chaos. We love all these guys too much to choose who comes first. That means Chile – it’s over to you!
It’s scarcely surprising that the home of Latin America’s biggest cultivation show should also be the source of some exceptional demand for hydro tech. We visited ExpoWeed in Santiago a couple of years back and the hugely enthusiastic reception we got, both at the event and on tour, has driven our search for a suitable AutoPot outlet in-country ever since. In Cannaliz we have a very exciting new prospect, ready to bring Chilean growers the AutoPot magic – namely; simple, sustainable, high-yield watering systems. As elsewhere in Latin America, decriminalisation and allowances for personal or collective cultivation are increasing public interest in means of growing that fit in with everyday life. This is as true in Chile as it is in our next destination; Colombia.
With a motto like “2600 meters closer to the stars” you just know that the Colombian capital is going to play home to some elevated, enlightened, and mathematically endowed intellects. Yes 2600 metres is, cosmically speaking, a relatively marginal gain. But there’s no doubt Bogota-based Benedicti Distribuciones are extra-vertical characters capable of lifting AutoPot to the highest heights. Though still emerging, the hydro tech market in Colombia is firm and Benedicti have the experience, passion, and esteem to generate widespread interest in user-friendly systems for plant feeding and watering.
Last year we visited Colombia and found out firsthand why, despite the ultra-fertile land, watering systems still had a key role to play in cultivation. Where pharma-grade growing is concerned climatic conditions and security are too much of an unknown to allow for in-earth cultivation. On a smaller, personal or collective scale not everyone has access to land. Growers, especially in remote areas, are often impeded by unreliable or expensive electrical and water supplies. Thus a power-free, water-efficient system like AutoPot, which can be used indoors, represents an ideal solution.
Serving the vibrant, legal home-cultivation market in Uruguay with the very best from AutoPot are the fresh, energetic, tech-curious Indajaus. A great selection of growing essentials including AQUAvalve5-equipped AutoPot Watering Systems is available from their enticing store and showroom in Montevideo. Given their upbeat, affable, and modern style of doing business we predict ‘Indajaus’ will soon see AutoPot ‘in the house’ of many a green-fingered Uruguayan.
Medical and recreational possession and consumption of cannabis has been legal or decriminalised for some time in Uruguay. Broadly this legalisation occurred in order to give people legal access to medical cannabis, to allow the development of therapies, and to reduce crime. A number of user-friendly, common-sense rules apply. The upshot is that registered home-growers can have up to six plants, with clubs allowed up to 99.
Legalisation has led to a surge in interest in hydro tech – especially amongst those who have otherwise busy lifestyles. There are many, many small and large-scale growers looking for a low-overhead, intuitive solution to feeding and watering and we rather think we’re it! Neither a home grower nor a club wants to see their meters spinning, nor do they want to be chained to a machine. As they require no power, running water, computers, or pumps, AutoPots are wonderfully fleet-footed in terms of utilities and maintenance. Removing the dependence on power and water also means pretty much any space is good for growing with AutoPot. And the systems are modular – so are incredibly flexible in terms of your available areas.
Whatever their plant of choice may be, we really do hope to get aspiring growers growing in across South America. It’s a thrill to be on the ground around the world in places where legal or climatic conditions make innovative growing possible. Each of our distributors look really well placed to introduce AutoPot to just such locations. We’ve every confidence that they’ll succeed and wish them all the best for the future. Mince pies all round!
